Information about our wallboxes
How do I charge my car at home and on the go?
At home you have the option of charging your car via a wallbox, which can easily be mounted on your house wall or on a designated column (Steele).
You also have the option of charging your car using a secure mobile charging cable, also known as a wallbox, such as our Optima Portable or our Charge & Count 2.0 . Remember that a charging cable or wallbox from stark-in-strom.de not only charges your car more safely than a household socket, but also up to 4 times faster .
How long does it take to charge my car?
As a rule of thumb, you can expect 4-5 hours for a standard electric car, depending on the battery size, on a wallbox with 11 kW.
What does a wallbox do?
A wallbox (or wall charging station) controls the charging process of your electric car in your home. You
can be conveniently mounted on the wall (e.g. in the garage) or on a column
(Steele). Wallboxes connect the power connection
safe with your electric car.
How do I have to be set up at home to be able to use a wallbox?
You can easily plug a wallbox into your home power connection.
There are basically two options here, on the one hand you can use one of our plug & play wallboxes, e.g. Easy Charge 2.0 , and plug it into your existing CEE socket (red power socket) without an electrician and start charging straight away, as all components relevant to operational safety, e.g. 6mA DC Protection is installed as standard in all wallboxes in our company. Option 2 would be to connect it to your home power network; for this you need a qualified electrician who can install the wallbox for you and guarantee the necessary protection for the connection.
Info: For wallboxes up to 11Kw, the electrician must provide a 3-pole C-16 backup fuse; for wallboxes up to 22Kw you need a 3-pole C-32 backup fuse. You are also welcome to use our connection distributor for safe installation.

All of our wallboxes from the EASY-CHARGE 2.0 and DUO-CHARGE 2.0 series have MID calibrated meters , so you don't
Not only can you see how much electricity your car has used, but you can also bill the electricity with a third party. With our Connect variants, you also have the option of viewing all consumption on an hourly basis using the evaluation software.
Which electricity meter do the wall boxes from stark-in-strom.de have and is it billing-compliant and MID-calibrated?
All of our wallboxes and mobile chargers have MID-calibrated meters including an S-0 pulse output with which you can upload the meter to your automation solution. The frequency of the pulses is 800 pulses per kWh. If the aim is to bill external third parties, the wallbox must be equipped with a MID-calibrated electricity meter. This primarily concerns billing of company cars to the employer or the tax office. All wallboxes from stark-in-strom.de fulfill all of this. Do wallboxes from stark-in-strom.de have 6mA DC protection / residual current protection (FI type B)?
All wallboxes and mobile chargers from
stark-in-strom.de have installed 6mA residual current protection modules as standard.
This means you can easily connect our wall boxes to your home power network.
There is no need to buy a very expensive FI type B all-current sensitive for wall boxes and
Mobile chargers from stark-in-strom.de. Your connection should only have one
have a simple FI type A (price approx. €29). As a rule, however, this is the case
already installed in your house, as this FI regulation is in Germany.
What does FI type B / FI type A mean?
FI type B is already installed in all of our wallboxes and chargers in the form of a so-called RCMU (in the form of a ring through which the cables are routed). This protects people not only from alternating current errors (AC), but also from (DC) direct current residual currents which occur when charging an electric car. The 6mA DC protection, which is built into all of our products, protects you from external costs in the form of FI type B all-current sensitive in the amount of 249,-.
FI type A is the name given to the standard household residual current circuit breaker. Since it can only detect alternating current (AC) errors, it is unsuitable for protecting a wallbox where DC residual currents can also arise.
What is static and dynamic load management and how do they differ?
Static load management: Is installed as standard in all wallboxes from FBT. You have the option of creating 5 individual charging profiles, e.g. 6A/9A/12A/14A/16A. You can use these to use the external button which is installed on every wallbox and mobile charger select. If your house connection only allows 12A, set the wallbox to 12A; from now on, overloading the connection is impossible.
Dynamic load management: All wallboxes in the EASY-CHARGE 2.0 and DUO-CHARGE 2.0 series are already prepared for dynamic load management (Clever-Control) and will be available to you from 02/24.
Example: 4 wallboxes of 11Kw each are to be installed, but the power connection only allows a maximum of 33Kw, which means that the first 3 electric cars can each be charged with 11Kw. If a 4th electric car is now added, the 33kw will be dynamically increased to 4 Cars are distributed, which means that each of the 4 cars now charges with 8.25 kW, an overload of the house connection is now ruled out.
Do wallboxes from stark-in-strom.de have load management?

This means you can always adapt the charging power of the wallbox to your home network or solar system . You can easily and conveniently set this in 5 switching stages in your wallbox using a rotary switch.
