This generator connection box is installed in the string line (solar cable from the solar panel to the inverter) in front of the inverter. It ensures the safe operation of solar systems and is mandatory in Germany.
The task of the generator connection box is to protect the connected inverter from damage when a high voltage is induced in the module cable (e.g. due to a lightning strike).
